Opening of the Leipzig Book Fair
The Leipzig Book Fair 2020 opening event is on Wednesday, 11.03.2020, at 7 pm at the Gewandhaus. Invitations for the exhibitors will be sent out in January 2020.
Leipzig Book Fair Prize
The Leipzig Book Fair Prize, worth a total of 60,000 euros, has been honouring outstanding new German-language publications and translations in the categories of fiction, non-fiction/essay writing and translation since 2005. The Free State of Saxony and the City of Leipzig are sponsors of the Leipzig Book Fair Prize. The Literary Colloquim Berlin is a partner.

The Leipzig Trade Fair invites the book branch to its traditional Book Fair party into the old ruins of the former city wall
- on Friday, 13 March 2020, from 8.00 p.m.
- at the Moritzbastei Leipzig, Kurt-Masur-Platz 1.
Here you will meet colleagues and partners and can wind down together the first two days of the event.
Combine your party visit with dinner in a relaxed atmosphere and enjoy a lavish spring buffet (until 10.00 p.m.). From mediterranean food and different soups to solid grilled specialities there is a great variety for everybody’s taste.

Start: 8.00 p.m.
Buffet: until 10.00 p.m. (incl. beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages)
