The Leipziger Messe Hygiene Concept and Special Conditions of Participation in the Leipzig Book Fair

Leipziger Messe is now once again able to hold events after receiving approval for our hygiene concept. This is enabled by the Corona Protection Ordinance and the current General Decree on the Enforcement of the Infection Protection Act issued by the Saxon State Government, expressly permitting trade fairs and congresses to be held under an approved hygiene concept. Leipziger Messe has developed these concepts. They have been examined and approved by the Public Health Office of the City of Leipzig.

Given the ever-changing situation, a continuous, expert evaluation of the entire situation and constant adaptation to the applicable legal requirements is essential.

In addition to the Leipziger Messe Hygiene Concept, which also contains information on stand construction and stand catering, the following special regulations also apply to the Leipzig Book Fair.

    Mandatory Protective Face Masks

The Leipzig Book Fair is characterised by the large number of visitors and exhibitors, the small stand sizes, the temporary density of events, the high number of exhibits and the length of time the visitors stay at the stands. In order to ensure the greatest possible protection for exhibitors and visitors under these circumstances, we require protective face masks to be worn for the entire duration of the Leipzig Book Fair throughout the exhibition grounds and in the congress hall.

    Hall Layout and Aisle Width

As usual, the Leipzig Book Fair will take place in Halls 2 - 5, and the Manga Comic-Con in Hall 1. Where possible, aisle widths will be expanded to 6 m.

    Event Planning

For events, the Leipzig liest (Leipzig reads) Conditions of Participation apply. Please note that events held at your own stand are not permitted this year.

    Authorised Number of Visitors

The number of visitors admitted to the exhibition grounds at the same time will depend on the total area of space used. According to the current planning, we expect 130,000 visitors over the entire duration of the fair.

Ticket Shop: Registration and Ticket Purchase

The ticket shop for visitors and exhibitors is expected to open in March 2021. Tickets can only be purchased online. Only day tickets will be sold.
