Arrival and parking facilities
Conveniently located in the north of the city, the Leipzig Trade Fair Centre is conveniently connected to numerous transportation services. Whether by car, plane, train, coach, public transportation or taxi, the Leipzig Trade Fair Centre is easily and conveniently accessible by all means of transport. Here you will find all the important information about your various travel options.
Arriving by local and long-distance transport
You can reach the exhibition grounds directly by bus and tram. The tram will run more frequently during the event (final stop “Messegelände”). You can also reach the Leipzig exhibition grounds by regional train (RB) or suburban train (S-Bahn). “Leipzig Messe” is the nearest station.
Provided this is expressly stated on the respective ticket, our admission tickets entitle you to free return travel to and from the event venue on the day of your visit using local public transport operated by Mitteldeutscher Verkehrsverbund (MDV) in fare zone 110 .

In addition, the S20 S-Bahn line will be set up for the duration of the event, stopping at the trade fair centre and Leipzig Central Station (upper platform), among other places.
Bicycles are not permitted on the S-Bahn.
During the event, additional long-distance train stops will be set up at the “Leipzig Messe” railway station.
A shuttle bus will run between the “Leipzig Messe” S-Bahn station and the main entrance to the trade fair centre (Glass Hall) on all days of the exhibition from around 11 a.m. onwards, ensuring a relaxed journey to and from the trade fair centre with connecting trains.
Information on local transport connections to Leipziger Messe is available from the Deutsche Bahn timetable information service as well as from the Mitteldeutscher Verkehrsverbund (Central German Transport Association) and the Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe (Leipzig Transport Services).
Arrival by bicycle
Travelling by bicycle can be particularly practical during rush hour. From the city centre, it takes about 25 minutes to cover the 8 km at a moderate speed.
Even if you don’t have your own bicycle, you can easily reach the exhibition grounds with a rental bicycle from nextbike (station near the tram stop).
During Leipzig Book Fair, a fenced-off bicycle parking area is available by the Merkurbrunnen fountain/West Entrance Hall. You can park your bicycle here free of charge and conveniently pick it up again after your visit to the trade fair.
The bicycle parking is open from 8 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. on event days.
In front of the administration building, there is also a charging station for e-bikes with lockable compartments for the batteries and bicycle accessories. The compartments contain a 230-volt socket for connecting the charger.
Arrival by car
If travelling by car, be sure to take the designated motorway exit A14 Leipzig Messegelände (not Leipzig Mitte) to avoid traffic jams – this will take you directly to our car parks.
Our dynamic parking guidance system will help you find a parking space, quickly directing you to available visitor parking spaces.
