Leipzig Book Fair showcases this international diversity and brings together authors, translators, publishers, cultural institutions and readers from around 40 countries in Leipzig. They highlight the diversity and latest developments in the global literary scene – often leading to surprising discoveries. In Leipzig, there is a particular focus on the literature of Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe.

This gives visitors the opportunity to discover literature from different parts of the world. At the same time, international exhibitors, national delegations and cultural institutions find a platform for exchange, networking and the long-term promotion of literature in the German-speaking world.
