About us
The German Cancer Aid was founded on September 25, 1974, by Dr. Mildred Scheel. The aim of this non-profit organization is to combat cancer in all its forms. Under the motto “Helping. Researching. Informing.”, the German Cancer Aid Foundation supports projects to improve prevention, early detection, diagnosis, therapy, medical aftercare, and psychosocial support, including cancer self-help initiatives. German Cancer Aid is the most significant private funding organization in the field of cancer control – including cancer research – in Germany.
